Analog verses IP Phone:
ANALOG: (Phones & Faxes)
Traditionally connected via CAT3 (Copper Wiring) cabling with multiple connections within the Home or Small Business and serviced via the Phone Carrier.
Existing analog home or small business phones can be routed via your ISP Service and or converted to IP telephony depending on your needs.
In addition existing fax lines can also be converted using the same device option.
Cellular Phones (Android & Apple)
Never share your Cell Phone or information.
Make sure you activate all the necessary Security Protocols on your Cell Phone (Your Carriers can provide Support for this), or install an Antivirus Application.
Using WIFI on your Cell Phone, if you connect to any Public WIFI or Store WIFI, use your VPN Option if installed on your Cell Phone for added Security.
Only download apps from your Carriers Service if you need them, try not to download games and other apps if you don't really need them, keep these for iPads & Tablets.
NEVER, ever respond to emails with personal information. SSN or ID's and Passwords.
Beware of Text Scams, such as Road Toll Services, Financial Services you do not have an account with. Use your OS Spam Filtering options.
Beware of Scammers with fake phones calls (with a foreign accents) offering "Student Loan Forgiveness" and or "Financial Help" or claiming to represent "Microsoft" / "HP" / "Dell" / IRS / SSA / "Utility Companies" or any other "Support" as they will never call you directly. These Scammers will never know your Personal or Financial Status and are only guessing based on statistics or outdated phone lists.
Remember, if a business wants to contact you, they will firstly send you a letter, if no response, they with try and email or call you if they have your info on file as a last resort, if this happens contact the Company/Institution (Such as the SSA, IRS, bank, Pension Companies) directly by phone to verify.
Never call the phone number provided by the Scammer, (Always check with the number of the business to see if its a genuine business call) once the Scammer has your number, they will try their best to get access to personal information, by providing false information as a scare tactic.
VOIP: (Voice Over Internet Protocol): (Phones & Faxes)
There are many VOIP Service providers than can convert old analog Phone System to Digital VOIP (Phones and Services)
Most existing Phones or ISP Carriers provide Analog to Digital Services for existing Phones or New IP Phones.
VOIP can use the existing network Connections (Cat5 or better) in the Home or Small business and some offer WIFI Phones for Office use.
There are two options, POE (Power Over Ethernet and would need a POE Switch) or separate power adapter.
In addition existing fax lines can also be converted to Analog/Digital via an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) Device using your Internet/Network instead of the old copper analog lines.
