What type of email should I use?

It is highly recommended that you have a "Personal" email, separate from the Internet Carriers provided email accounts offered as they only provide limited auto email security for blocking unwanted junk/phishing email.

The the main reason for a "Personal Email", is if you change your Cable Internet Service Provider (IPS), your email account and contacts along with history will be deleted.

Best option is to create a free Gmail or Hotmail account as these accounts have the best auto email protection for your account with Spam Blockers etc.
These are easy to configure for additional added protection and offer the best encryption and blocking options.

By default most Android Cell phones require a Gmail account and this is a good way to keep your contacts safe and secure.

Never share your Gmail contacts with other email providers on your PC or Cell Phone if prompted to do so.
