Texts From Strangers!

If you get a Text from someone you don't know, your natural instinct is to respond!

This is what the text user wants, so they can open the door to access your Cell phone.

If you have the option of Text Blocking on your Cell phone, use this and this should block further contact.

Another text Scam is to claim its from an online Video Streaming Service and your service will be suspended if you do not respond, do not call the number or respond to the text and or any links contained in the text message, instead contact the service direct for verification.

Most businesses will never call you directly and usually send out official mail notices by postal services in attempt to contact you or via the submitted email when you signed up for any service and cell number.

Even if this is a mistake, best to play safe than accept all and any texts.


Calls From Unknown Persons!

Most unsolicited calls today are created by Robo Callers (Computers randomly calling phone numbers until they get an answer) trying to get you to sign up for a scam, claiming to be from the IRS, SSN, Charities and other services.

Never provide any personal info if you answer these calls by mistake, instead look up the contact info and call the business directly to see if they called, as they will normally be aware of the spam callers and will provide instructions/advice?

With all the different Cell applications online these day, be very careful when you install apps from the cloud services provided by the Cellular Service or manufacturer, while some are free (nothing is free) , most require you to subscribe and sign up, providing crucial info to share with other sites and dubious scammers/hackers.

Try and keep your cell phone free of games and apps that your really don't need as they can invade your privacy settings and info as well as use up data on your service plan.


Sensible rule to follow:

Rule of thumb... Only respond to texts from persons or businesses you know from your contacts, NEVER respond to the fake texts as they can install Trojans, Spyware, Malware and even Phishing your profile..
